Cinema Lliure at the Beach, which translates to Free Cinema on the Beach, is one of the most popular open-air cinema events during the summer nights in Barcelona city and province.
Currently, this free cinema cycle, which began in 2012 at San Sebastián Beach in Barcelona, has expanded to other beaches along the Catalan coast, including Playa de Sant Esteve La Fosca de Palamós (beach) in Palamós, Platja Gran (beach) in Tossa de Mar, Platja de la Picòrdia in Arens de Mar and more. Additionally, this year, Cinema Lliure at the Beach will also be held in Palma de Mallorca.
2026 Edition of Cinema Lliure at the Beach
During the 2026 edition of Cinema Lliure at the Beach, as has been the tradition in previous years, the movie screenings, which are shown in Original Version with Spanish Subtitles (V.O.S.E.), are preceded by a musical performance and the screening of a short film.
All of this, combined with the fact that entry is free, as well as the fantastic setting provided by the different beaches in the province of Barcelona where the event takes place, makes this open-air cinema cycle in Barcelona a true experience and one of the most popular events during the summer nights for locals and visitors alike.
