Visitor Information for the 2026 World Press Photo Barcelona Edition
Organised by Photographic Social Vision, the 2026 edition of World Press Photo marks its 21st anniversary. This year’s World Press Photo exhibition will take place at the CCCB — the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona. Where is it located? Right in the heart of Barcelona’s Raval district, next to another of the city’s major art institutions, the MACBA.
World Press Photo Edition Details
Dates: From 5 November to 13 December 2026.
Tuesdays to Thursdays and public holidays: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Friday: 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Saturday: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Sunday: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Where: CCCB.
Number of photographs on display: Information pending confirmation.
€ General admission: €6 (€8 if visiting two exhibitions).
€ Reduced admission: €4 (€6 if visiting two exhibitions).
€ Free admission: Sundays from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm (online reservation required). Children under 12, unemployed, pensioners with the Rosa card, etc.
World Press Photo Categories and Awards
A total of almost 5,000 photographers from around the world have submitted their work to the various World Press Photo categories. Among them, more than 100 have been awarded, and these are the photographs on display in the exhibition at the CCCB.
In many cases, a photo series or report by the same photojournalist is presented, allowing a much deeper understanding of the conflict or situation depicted.

Without a doubt, the most important award is for the World Press Photo of the Year. In the vast majority of cases, the winning photograph presents a striking and hard-hitting image, reflecting the consequences of a war or conflict.

Educational Area: Activities Parallel to the Exhibition
Alongside the World Press Photo exhibition, the Photographic Social Vision Foundation promotes and organises a series of activities under the so-called Educational Area. Among these, the guided visits stand out, designed for different groups, schools, companies, and, of course, all types of visitors to the exhibition.
During these visits, special attention is given to the values and objectives of photojournalism and how they shape the perception of a conflict or situation, making them highly educational for better understanding the merits of the photographs on display.
Map and How to Get to World Press Photo Barcelona
The quickest, most convenient, and cost-effective way to get to the CCCB, the venue for the World Press Photo Barcelona exhibition, is by public transport (metro, bus, FGC, and RENFE commuter trains). If you live in the Raval neighbourhood or nearby, you can also reach the venue on foot.
You can also travel by taxi or private vehicle, although this usually means parking in one of the nearby car parks, given the difficulty of finding a street parking space and the limited parking time.
