Although it’s not the only means by which you can get to Barcelona’s El Prat Airport from the city centre, the Aerobus (Also known as AerobusBCN) is certainly the most convenient and quickest option, which is why the vast majority of people travelling to and from Barcelona choose this method of transport.
Buying your AerobusBCN tickets
There are various ways in which you can buy your Aerobus ticket. You can do it on the day as you board the bus, whether at the machine located next to the bus stop (this is only available at Plaça de Catalunya and Barcelona Airport), or from the staff at the Aerobus stop or the driver of the bus itself.
If you prefer to arrive having already bought your ticket, you can purchase it online in advance. To save a bit of time, and sometimes even queues depending on what time you are travelling, it might be a good idea to buy your ticket online.
Aerobus A1 and A2, which should i catch?
Depending on which terminal (T1 or T2) your flight to or from Barcelona operates from, you’ll need to catch either the A1 or A2 Aerobus, and this is particularly relevant when travelling to the airport.
Terminal T1 – Aerobus A1
Terminal T2 – Aerobus A2
* In the event of making a mistake and catching the wrong Aerobus, when you arrive at the terminal you can use the BusTransit, which will take you between the terminals in just a few minutes.
Both the Aerobus A1 and the A2 link their respective airport terminals (T1 and T2) with heart of the city centre (Plaça de Catalunya). Along the route there are two more stops, one in Plaça Espanya and another at the junction of Carrer Sepúlveda and Carrer Urgell (going from the city to the airport) or at the junction of the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Carrer Urgell (going from the airport to the city).
